Deo Volente is a forward-thinking firm. We are ambitious and excited for our bright future and for all our dreams to come to fruition.
We have come a long way from our humble beginnings and how we came to fruition. Since its inception, the firm has espoused the core values of dedication, determination, and delivery, which remain the hallmark of our clients’ interactions.
It’s a visceral memory for Senior Partner— Mr Rehman, our founder, who was also the sole practitioner. Deo Volente embarked on its journey in 2007, under the moniker ‘Rehman’s Solicitors.’ The firm established itself on a ‘grassroots’ basis— serving the community and individuals in many walks of life- a core value we uphold today.
In 2012, a firm built on faith, which is today “Deo Volente” was conceived. Deo Volente is the Latin for the English ‘God Willing’ and ‘InshaAllah’ in Arabic. In the same year, it marked the significant involvement of fellow Senior Partner, Dr Keith Bothongo.
Deo Volente is renowned for its acclaimed Immigration and Conveyancing departments. We confidently offer expertise in these areas, knowing our award-winning and client-focused service level.
We take pride in delivering outstanding value to private clients and businesses of all sizes operating across various industries, offering dynamic leadership and innovative thinking within our Litigation and Family departments.
Our steadfast commitment is also wide open to Muslim clients with legal matters in services such as Islamic and Pakistani Law extending to borders outside the UK. We are happy to support our clients, who would otherwise have no access to such legal services.
Our indifferences are what make us unique. It is always a privilege to be in a diverse environment— learning about each other’s cultures and ideas, and sharing such with unwavering respect and understanding— is a gift. Our DV family are actively open and accepting of their various standpoint and perspectives.
We have colleagues from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, Jamaica, The Philippines, Poland, and England! We also can speak a range of languages: Polish, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, and Tagalog.
We apply the same approach to our Clients. We never reckon on any person based on race, religion, gender or disability—for these are aspects we celebrate and appreciate.
Our focus on our clients transpires to our colleagues. We do not deem ourselves a ‘Corporate’ law firm, but rather a ‘Family’ law firm— considering everyone as a second family. We do not view any person as a number; we appreciate their unique value. We do the utmost as a business to help each one achieve personal development and growth. This is a success for Deo Volente in its truest form.
It is this same approach we apply to our clients. You are not an invoice, a figure or black and white on a piece of paper. You are human— deserving of appreciation and respect for the path you have walked. We are here to guide you through all walks of life.
We are honoured to serve and support our community and nationwide efforts in aid of others. For several years, we have operated as key benefactors of both Bedford F.C. and Westfield Cricket Club (If you see us in the stands, do not forget to say hello!). Furthermore, we are also patrons of Bedfordshire Police, who do an outstanding job maintaining the Public’s best interest and safety.
Deo Volente regularly participates with local Food Banks. In previous years, we have assisted with packaging food. Most recently, we have donated dry goods to support efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are in awe of the great work the Food Bank and its supporters do to provide relief for families throughout the UK.
We have established partnerships with Keech Hospice (www.keech.org.uk) and Cancer Research (www.cancerresearchuk.org). Two fantastic organisations that are integral to our communities— we enthuse you to read about all the incredible work they do and donate to their causes if you can. In aid of Keech Hospice, our team plans to participate in the famed 3 Peaks Challenge come Spring 2021.
For Cancer Research, we offer our services to support their Free Will Writing Scheme across our offices. Finally, it is of the utmost importance that as responsible persons who practice law, we can offer our service to those who need it most but often cannot access the legal support they require. We have and continue to undertake Pro-Bono work where we can.
